What happens to you when you live abroad?

Even though you’ll always notice similarities when chatting with international people and you may think you’re not the only one struggling with the habits and customs of your host country, everyone’s experience abroad is unique.

How does one manage to make friends? How long does it take? Does one benefit of any kind of help when arriving? Is speaking the language mandatory to survive?
